At Kaimanawa Alpine Adventures, our mission is to be one of the leading, sustainable and eco-friendly adventure tourism companies.
A strong connection to New Zealand’s heritage has shaped our beliefs around land use and our impact on the environment. We have spared no expense to ensure the adventures we offer are as sustainable and low impact as possible.
Kaitiakitanga (guardianship) is at the centre of everything we do here at Kaimanawa Alpine Adventures. We are determined to protect our beautiful playground so it may be enjoyed by our tamariki and mokopuna (children and grandchildren) for years to come.
While riding the Kaimanawa Descent, be sure to read our story boards. These explain the heritage and names of special areas in Tongariro National Park and the Southern Kaimanawa region. Celebrate our rich culture and shared histories on the trail and take a sneak peek at the stories below.
Kaimanawa Alpine Adventures’ sister company, Helisika Ltd, is based on Poronui station. Helisika has been flying hunters and fly fishermen into the Kaimanawa and Kaweka Ranges for nearly 30 years. Our well-known family-owned company has an outstanding safety record and we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service.
Kaimanawa Alpine Adventures is a 75 minute drive, south of Taupō and 20 minutes south of Turangi along State Highway 1, on Waipakahi Road.
